This is a popular topic nowadays not only around here, but also in Germany, where I have be living for quite a long time. Everyone seems to be concerned and claims to do things for a better life for future generations. People are just planning not acting. The problem is huge, we have to start acting, not making plans for 2035 or 3100.
Waste, waste and waste…
Picture this: Organize a conference in Paris for defining sustainable goals for 20xx. What infrastructure has to be put in place for the security of our dear leaders? First they have to fly there, waste of energy for the planes. Do our dear leaders know nothing about Skype & Co? Think about the cost of in $s, the amount of energy, the security staff needed.
I was born and grew up in the rain forest, Cameroon, where people were used that time to walk from point A to point B. Here when one needs a bottle of milk she’ll jump in the car and drive to the shopping center. It is fast and comfortable, but where does the gas come from and wouldn’t it be better to just walk there and pick up the milk?
